Estimate your 2026 federal income tax using OBBBA-adjusted brackets. For planning only.
Estimated Federal Tax
Effective Rate: 0%
This estimator calculates your 2026 federal income tax using the OBBBA-adjusted tax brackets. It applies the standard deduction or your entered itemized deductions, then calculates tax owed at each bracket rate.
Use this calculator when planning your tax withholding, evaluating a job offer, or estimating quarterly payments. It's especially useful in Q4 when adjusting W-4 withholdings before year-end.
Taxable Income = Gross Income - Pre-Tax Deductions - Greater of(Standard Deduction, Itemized Deductions). Tax is calculated progressively: 10% on first bracket, 12% on next, etc. Credits subtracted at the end.
The effective rate shows your average tax burden. A 15% effective rate on $80k income means you keep $68k after federal tax. Compare this to your withholding to see if you'll owe or get a refund.
This is an estimate for planning only. Actual tax depends on many factors including AMT, additional Medicare tax, capital gains, and specific credits. Consult a CPA for your exact liability.
